Bismillah. It’s hard… to not be sad, disappointed or disheartened when you found out that something is not how it appears to be. When you realise that beneath what has unfolded, the reality is that you failed.
Failing to me is not fulfilling my amanah, my tendency to depend on people and the lack of time management/prioritising. But the essense of failing is not failure. It’s how one comes up wiser after each fall and stronger after each defeat.
The beauty in failing is the lesson embedded in its almost-failure situation - what actually happens is that it gives way to better opportunities. Just remember: Allah is the best of Planners and He knows what’s best for us.

Conversation between a Muslim boy and his mother
Muslim boy: My friend (a non-Muslim) said that he only prays once a week. Why don’t we convert to their religion, Ma? It’s easier if we don’t have to pray five times a day! Mother: Okay from now on, you can only play with your toys once a week. How do you feel about that? Boy: But I love my toys. I will miss them! Mother: So you love them and you will miss them if you only see them once a week? Boy: Yes! Mother: That’s how Allah will feel if you only pray and talk to Him once a week. You didn’t even create those toys yet you love them so much. Allah created you, so imagine how much more He loves you and you only want to be with Him once a week??
The next day, the boy told his friend, “God misses you. You should talk to Him and pray to Him more often.”

“Love is like a lawsuit. It requires evidence… Love speaks for itself. When you love someone, you do what pleases them. And your greatest joy is in pleasing and serving the one you love. It is an honor to serve the one you love.” (found at Yasmin Mogahed’s blog)
So are you ready to show your love to The Creator Allah and Our Last Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.?

Let’s share our thoughts and opinions #1
Assalammualaikum, my favourite girls!
Let’s discuss something: Love, InshAllah, a book On Muslim Women, sex and love. To read more about it, go to Source 1 and Source 2.
One of the editors, Ayesha Mattu said that, “One of my greatest desires for this book is for it to break down the barriers between the generations, and to really be a tool for discussion within families.”
In your opinion, how successful is the book in “break(ing) down the barriers between the generations, and… be a tool for discussion within families”? Do you think such books should be produced? Are there more cons or pros in producing it? What kind of image does the book reflect of us as Muslim Women?
My dear sisters, what do you think?

FAITH IS THE MOST ESSENTIAL FASHION TO EVERY MUSLIMAH.
“The beauty of the Muslim Ummah is that it is considered to be so close knit that the Prophet Muhammad (salallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “The believers, in their love, mutual kindness and close ties, are like one body; when any part complains, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever.” [Muslim]. What initially compels many non-Muslims who hang out with Muslims to actually research the deen is the brotherhood in Islam, and it is this element that was almost palpable to me when I attended talks and gatherings of sisters at my University Islamic Society. Although I hadn’t adopted hijaab at the time, most sisters treated me like, well, a fellow sister in Islam. One of the most loving women to have moved and inspired me was an older lady called sister Anees, who looked past my non-hijaabi outward appearance and saw something else there, in my heart. Her acceptance of me, her kind regard of me, her gentility and patience was a quiet force that kept pulling me back to every talk she gave, even though I stuck out like a sore thumb in the crowd and occasionally felt so out of place.”
